Troubleshooting common issues

Resolve common generation, credit, document, web-search, Build, publishing, and connected-app problems.

The answer is queued or says demand is too high

Section titled “The answer is queued or says demand is too high”

A Queued message means Neurothread is waiting for a generation slot; leave the answer open to let it start. If the app reports that demand is too high and the answer could not start, retry later and follow any retry guidance shown in the app. Repeatedly sending the same request can create extra answers or use credits if a later attempt succeeds.

Check the account menu for your usage and reset information. You can shorten the answer, choose a lower-cost model, use a model marked Free if one is available, add an eligible provider key, or review plans. Free models may also reach a daily user limit or a shared availability limit. A message about not having enough credits for one answer can mean the estimate for that model, context, and length exceeds your remaining balance; try a shorter response or a cheaper model.

A model failed, timed out, or rejected my key

Section titled “A model failed, timed out, or rejected my key”

Try again after a brief wait or choose another available model. Provider rate limits and temporary outages can affect one model without affecting others. If you use your own key and see an authentication error, open Settings → API keys and check that the key is for the selected provider, remains active, and has provider-side billing enabled. Do not paste the key into a prompt. If a response is too long for the model’s context, exclude older nodes from the branch or choose a model with a larger context window.

Stopping keeps the text generated so far and bills the work already completed. If nothing was generated, the draft remains available to edit or retry. A stopped Build operation does not save a new project version; start another Build request if you still want that change.

Open the document in Library and inspect its preview. Neurothread does not OCR scanned PDFs; use a text-based PDF or run OCR with a trusted tool before importing it. Password-protected PDFs and legacy Office files such as .doc, .xls, and .ppt are unsupported; save them as .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx first.

Check that it is a valid public page and try again. Private or internal network addresses are blocked, and a page may still fail if the host cannot be reached or requires a sign-in. You can attach supported files directly instead. See Images and documents.

The model may not have searched, or it may not support tool calls. Search is model-triggered, not a user toggle. Ask explicitly for current information and citations, and choose a model that supports tools. When a personal provider key is active, web search remains a separate service and may need Neurothread credits; check your usage if search stops after your balance is exhausted. See Web search and sources.

Wait until the first project file is ready, confirm the project has index.html, and use Reload. Open Console to inspect errors. External resources are subject to preview sandbox rules: HTTPS images are permitted, but scripts, styles, fonts, and connections may depend on the allowed host list. If a request is blocked, use a supported resource or remove that dependency, then reload.

My manual edit disappeared or the live site is old

Section titled “My manual edit disappeared or the live site is old”

Manual edits remain a draft until you choose Save version. To update a published site’s code, select the saved version and choose Publish this version. Save changes updates site details, not the code version. Review Edit and fix a Build project and Build: publish and export.

Verify your email, choose an address the app reports as available, and check the current plan’s site limit. A site may be under review; read its status in the Publish panel. Unpublishing removes the current site listing; after a rename, the former address may redirect for up to 30 days. In either case, use the Publish panel’s availability check before relying on a slug.

The model is paused while an MCP action awaits your decision. Review the tool and its arguments, then allow or deny it. If the connection was removed or switched off, enable it in the workspace’s MCPs panel or reconnect it in Settings → Connected apps.

Memory is still affecting answers after I paused learning

Section titled “Memory is still affecting answers after I paused learning”

A learning notice and the Remember things about me switch are different. The main switch in Settings → Memory turns off both learning and use while retaining saved information. Delete a section or all Memory only if you intend to erase it and its saved summary history. See Memory.
