Questions & fixes
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about models, credits, web search, documents, Build publishing, connected tools, and Memory.
Models, credits, and search
Section titled “Models, credits, and search”Why did a response use credits?
Section titled “Why did a response use credits?”Model answers can use credits based on the model, input and output tokens, conversation context, and any web searches. The estimate before sending is a guide; check the actual charge on the answer and your current usage in the account menu. Plan allowances and features may change, so use the live pricing page rather than a saved number.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Section titled “What happens when I run out of credits?”The app explains the available choices for your account. Depending on your plan and current availability, you may use a model marked Free, add an eligible provider key, or review plan options. Free models have both daily user limits and shared availability limits, so they may be unavailable even when they do not use credits.
Does my own API key pay for web search?
Section titled “Does my own API key pay for web search?”No. A supported provider key pays that provider for the model call. Web search is a separate Neurothread service and can still use Neurothread credits. With a personal key, search may be available while your Neurothread credits remain; if those credits are exhausted, search can be unavailable. See BYOK and Web search and sources.
What happens when I press Stop?
Section titled “What happens when I press Stop?”The answer stops and keeps the text generated so far; you are charged for what was produced. A stopped Build generation does not save a new project version. If no text was generated, the draft remains available to edit or retry.
Can I choose a reviewer for Critique?
Section titled “Can I choose a reviewer for Critique?”The Critique action selects a reviewer automatically, normally from another available provider. It creates a separate branch; it does not replace the original answer. The action has no reviewer picker. Read Critique an answer with another model for details.
Files and Build
Section titled “Files and Build”Which documents and links can I attach?
Section titled “Which documents and links can I attach?”Neurothread extracts text from supported document formats; it does not OCR scanned PDFs. The app allows up to 10 documents on a node and up to three URLs in a message when link import is enabled. Imported links must be publicly reachable; private or internal addresses are blocked. See Images and documents for formats and limits.
Is a Build preview public? Can I download it for free?
Section titled “Is a Build preview public? Can I download it for free?”Preview and saved project versions are not public by themselves. Publishing is a separate step, and you need a verified email. Downloading the single HTML file, downloading a ZIP, and exporting to GitHub are paid-plan features; the Free plan can continue building and previewing in Neurothread. Read Build: publish and export.
Does Save changes publish my latest Build version?
Section titled “Does Save changes publish my latest Build version?”No. Save changes saves site details such as its address, title, description, and sharing options. To update the live code, select the intended version and choose Publish this version. A new Build answer or manual save does not update the live site automatically.
Connected tools and Memory
Section titled “Connected tools and Memory”Why is an answer waiting for approval?
Section titled “Why is an answer waiting for approval?”A connected MCP tool can pause an answer while it waits for you to allow or deny the requested call. Review the tool and its arguments before choosing. The model continues after your decision; see Connected apps.
Does turning Memory off erase saved information?
Section titled “Does turning Memory off erase saved information?”No. The Remember things about me switch stops both learning and using saved Memory, but keeps the data. To erase it, use Delete section or Delete all memory in Settings → Memory. Deletion also removes the saved summary history, so it cannot be restored. See Memory.
