Privacy and data: review your controls and rights

Understand Neurothread’s privacy controls, personal Memory, decision-model preference, provider processing, and how to request data rights.

This guide explains where the in-product controls are; it is not a replacement for the Privacy Policy, which describes the data processed, service providers, legal bases, retention, and rights. Review that policy for the current full terms. Neurothread content can include account details, workspace prompts and answers, attachments, provider keys, usage and billing information, and technical records.

Your privacy controls are distinct: Remember things about me in Settings → Memory controls personal Memory; Improve decision models in Settings → General controls whether decision-feature requests and follow-up choices are kept for Neurothread’s own decision-model improvement. Neither control changes the privacy terms of an external AI provider.

Use this guide when deciding whether to enable Memory or the decision-model preference, when choosing which content to submit to an AI feature, or when you want to exercise a data right. Before attaching a document or asking a model to process a prompt, consider whether it includes personal or confidential information that should not be sent to the selected provider. Provider processing is described in the policy and the provider’s own terms.

  1. Open Settings → Memory. Check Remember things about me. Turning the main control off stops both new learning and use of saved Memory, but preserves the saved data. Use Delete section or Delete all memory to erase Memory; deleting a section or all Memory also removes its saved summary history.
  2. In Settings → General, review Improve decision models. Its description says that disabling it stops keeping the covered decision requests and follow-up choices and deletes those already kept. This is about Neurothread’s decision models, not a universal AI-provider training switch.
  3. For provider API keys, open Settings → API keys and remove a key you no longer want stored. For MCP app credentials, open Settings → Connected apps and remove a connection you no longer use. Revoking stored access in Neurothread may be separate from revoking credentials with the external provider.
  4. For access, correction, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, or consent withdrawal, read the current policy and email admin@neurothread.ai with the subject “Neurothread privacy”. For an account-deletion request, use the same privacy contact and state clearly that you want the account deleted.
  5. Do not include passwords, provider keys, assistant tokens, or unnecessary sensitive details in a rights request. The app has no in-product full-data export or account-deletion control; do not mistake Memory deletion for deleting your account or workspace history.

You want to stop personal details from influencing future chats but may want them later. Switch off Remember things about me rather than deleting Memory; saved data remains stored but is not learned from or used while the main switch is off. Separately, if you do not want Neurothread to keep records for its decision-model improvement, review Improve decision models in General. These settings do not determine how a model provider handles a request sent to it.

Memory controls apply to personal Memory, while the decision preference concerns records used to improve Neurothread’s decision models. External model providers and connected services process information under their own terms; consult the Privacy Policy for which providers may receive prompts, branch context, attachments, or other feature data. A request sent by email is a data-rights request, not an instant in-app deletion action. Keep the policy’s contact and process details for follow-up.

This guide does not promise a particular retention period, backup-erasure schedule, automatic data export, or immediate account deletion. The current Privacy Policy is the source for the retention information and rights process. Deleting Memory removes Memory data and its saved summary history, not your account or workspace conversations. Turning off Improve decision models is not a switch for third-party model-provider policies. Review the selected provider’s terms and avoid sending information you do not want processed by that service.

  • Memory is still visible after switching it off: the data is preserved. Use the Memory deletion controls if you want it erased.
  • You want to stop decision-record collection: check Improve decision models in General; this is separate from the Memory switch.
  • You are unsure what an AI provider receives: consult the Privacy Policy’s AI-provider section and the provider’s current terms before sending the request.
  • You want a copy of your data: there is no in-app full-data export control. Follow the access/portability instructions in the Privacy Policy by emailing the listed contact.
  • You want your account deleted: email admin@neurothread.ai with the subject “Neurothread privacy” and request account deletion. Do not include passwords, provider keys, or assistant tokens in that email.
  • You need to complain about data handling: the Privacy Policy identifies the relevant supervisory authority and contact details.
