Templates: start from a reusable workflow

Choose a gallery template, fill its fields, select nodes and models, then create drafts or run the workflow.

Templates turn a reusable workflow into a tree of nodes. The gallery includes ready-made workflows, and My templates contains templates you saved. You can open the gallery from Templates in the sidebar or start from the public gallery. A template may have required fields, optional nodes, suggested models, and a particular order for its branches.

Choose a gallery template when a task has repeatable steps—for example, planning a project or preparing a campaign. Save your own template when you have a branch structure and prompts you want to reuse. Templates create nodes in your workspace; they do not create a separate AI product or automatically make the result a final deliverable.

  1. Open Templates from the sidebar or canvas controls. Search by name or description, or filter the gallery by category. Select a card to open its setup form.
  2. Fill in each required field. These values are inserted into the template’s prompts. Optional fields can be left blank if marked optional.
  3. Under Nodes to create, untick optional branches you do not need. Keep prerequisite nodes if later steps depend on them.
  4. Under Model, choose a model for the workflow. Enable Choose a model per node if you want different models for individual steps. A template may suggest models, which you can adjust.
  5. Under Where, choose New workspace to keep the workflow separate or Current canvas to add it to the open workspace. The current-canvas choice may be unavailable if there is no active workspace.
  6. Under How, choose Create as drafts to inspect and edit prompts before generating, or Create and run everything to execute the workflow. With the second option, steps run in order, sibling branches run in parallel, and merge nodes wait for their inputs. Review the displayed estimate when one is available.
  7. Confirm with Create nodes or Create and run. If you choose drafts, review each prompt and generate only the nodes you want.
  8. To reuse your own work, select a group of nodes on Canvas and choose Save as template, or open a node’s ⋮ menu and select Save branch as template. Name it, set its fields, and save it under My templates.

Choose a project-planning template and fill in “Launch a weekend pottery workshop” as the project, “six weeks” as the timeline, and “two instructors” as the team size. Leave the optional social-post branch unticked if you only need logistics. Select Create as drafts to review each prompt before spending credits, or Create and run everything when the workflow and selected models look right.

The workflow appears as nodes in the selected workspace. Follow the generated branches, edit a draft, exclude irrelevant context, or merge completed branches into a synthesis. Your own templates are private to your account; editing or deleting a saved template does not remove nodes already created from it. Use the Gallery and My templates tabs to find either kind later.

Creating drafts does not generate model answers. Running a workflow can spend credits for each model response; the form estimates the total when it can calculate one from the chosen models and lengths. Actual usage can differ. Free models can have availability limits. Optional branches can be unticked, but dependent nodes may also be omitted if their prerequisite is removed. The number of templates you can save may be limited by your account. Current plan details are at neurothread.ai/pricing.

  • A required field is highlighted: enter a value in each field marked with an asterisk, then submit again.
  • The template list is empty or fails to load: clear the search, check your connection, and reopen Templates. Try the public gallery if needed.
  • Current canvas is disabled: open or create a workspace first; otherwise choose New workspace.
  • A branch disappears after unticking an option: it may depend on the optional node you removed. Re-enable that node if you need downstream steps.
  • No cost estimate appears: the selected model or template may not support an estimate; the final cost depends on the generated answers.
  • Saving a template fails: check that each node has a title and text, and that form options include values. Select nodes that contain prompts before saving.
